After a period of 8 (Eight) days of the Annual Retreat the Institutes celebrates the new steps taken by the Formees in their various capacities as members of the Institute.
The ceremony of initiation took place at the Noviciate on the 6th December in which 14 junior aspirants became senior aspirant by the reception of the crucifix which is a sign that we have to boast only of the cross of Christ from which our salvation comes and follows in the footsteps of Christ whom we wish to emulate all our life and not on the vanities of this passing world. Below are the Aspirants who became senior aspirants, smartly dressed in their crucifixes.
On that same day 12 senior Aspirants were dressed to Postulancy with the holy mantle, a sign of humility to emulate our blessed mother Mary immaculate.
To crown the blessing of that day, the institute was also over joyed to have 10 strong, young and energetic postulants join the Noviciate as canonical year Novices who received the holy mantle of humility and the veil a sign of purity of not only the body but also of the heart, soul and mind.
Making it even more graceful was the presence of his grace the Arch Bishop of Gulu arch diocese who was the main celebrant of this occasion in presence of the leadership team and other members of the institute.
The ceremony still continued on the 7th December, in the mother house in Mary immaculate church where 22 junior sisters renewed the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience.
This occasion was grace by the presence of His Excellency the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda Rt. Rev. Lwigi Bianco who himself was the main celebrate of the Holy Eucharist with Arch Bishop Rt. Rev. John Baptist Odama and the Chaplains being the con- celebrants.
It was a very vibrant day all together. Finally here comes the long awaited 8th December, 13 new shoots sprung from the root of Bishop Angelo Negri servant of God and Mother Angiolettla dognini. The institute was highly blessed to have 13 Novices make their First Religious Profession in the mother house (Mary Immaculate Church) in presence of His Grace the Arch Bishiop of Gulu Rt. Rev. John Baptist Odama, all the three chaplains of the institute and many other priests who con-celebrated the Eucharist, the countless members of the institute, family members, 4 (four Associate Memebers of the Little Sisters of Mary Immaculate of Gulu for the U.S.A and in the hands of Rev. Mother. Grace Angelina Aciro the new Superior General of the Institute of the Little Sisters of Mary Immaculate of Gulu. The day left everyone gleaming with joy in their hearts and faces.
With such mighty blessings we are really thankful to God for his goodness to us and ask that he continues blessing our institute with an abundance of vocation. To god be the Glory.
