The Little Sisters of Mary Immaculate are involved in Child Care program as well às care for children in urban or rural areas are in the depth of their Charism.
Our Lady of Africa Kindergarten is in the City of Kampala. There are currently 400 children in it both for Day Care and unfolding learning by imparting values in life, knowledge and imparting fear of God, evangelization and forming leaders of the nation. This eventually also leads to academic excellence and successful quality life style.
This Kindergarten started in 1972 by the Comboni Sisters and handed to the Little Sisters of Mary Immaculate in1985.
With the support of the Association of the Religious in Uganda ARU received from GHR to give special care and value to the Care of Children by giving the chance for the Sisters to study Social Work and Administration, the Little Sisters are bringing a lot of innovation in the child care in their ministries. The policy ARU designed named Catholic Care for Children in Uganda is the tool guiding the Sisters.
On 2nd March the Sisters therefore moved to renew the Management Committee. Sr Carmel Abwot the Institute Councillor for Education is the New Chairperson. The Headteacher is Sr. Perpetua Bayiru. Her Deputy is Sr Ruminate Kebirungi and the Bursar is Sr Joyce Tiko.
